ICARE is a ministry God continues to widen for Harvest at Broadway Methodist Hospital. When God first opened the door for this ministry Harvesters were allowed to go to the Emergency Room and ICU waiting rooms to offer snacks, refreshments, and prayer while families waited. But God has just opened up the doors to the entire hospital for Harvesters to go to every waiting room. God has been so faithful in providing this opportunity for us, but will we be faithful in doing our part? If you're afraid, you're not alone. That's why this year we're changing things up a bit.
This year, we are going to have an ICARE leader who will select a day and time each week for all the volunteers to meet and go throughout the hospital together. ICARE volunteers are always free to go to the hospital as much as they would like, but with a specific day, we know that at least one day a week will be well represented by Harvest. This will also provide comfort in numbers, and accountability for all those involved.
The Outreach Team is asking for help in this matter. We need someone who is willing to help lead the ICARE ministry. ICARE is a tremendous opportunity that God has given Harvest to freely reach out to the patients and family members. So what is expected of the ICARE leader? What we would like to see the ICARE leader do is select a day and time (example - Wednesdays at 6pm) for the ICARE volunteers to meet at the hospital, and delegate where the volunteers should go. Lastly, we would like the leader to help with keeping the supplies used in ICARE stocked.
If you are a volunteer, please feel free to go to the hospital around whenever it's convenient. If you have any questions about ICARE of would like someone to go with you, please give Pastor Chris Starr a call and we will make the necessary arrangements. |
